I have to go to my dad's office with a portable dc power supply and a usb cable to update it every time. You can put some software in and then run a virtual machine that runs windows on your system. Probably the only solution. Doubt Escort is working hard on a port to apple.Thanks.
That sounds complicated. Hopefully they'll come out with something for mac before his PC breaks. There are many solutions out there if you Google it, this is just one of many I found.
I have never used it but I know there are some here on the Forum running Windows software on Macs. At the moment Detector Tools (DT) v1.8 is only mandatory for Passport iQ users, v1.7 will not recognize a connected iQ. I recommend that 9500 users also install it though. Going forward DT v1.8 should be the last installation of DT that you will need to perform for some time. DT 1.8 has it's own upgrade functionality so any future changes to it can be made without un-installing it and installing a newer version.
Every time you run DT 1.8 it checks for any updates to itself.Besides auto update, what other improvements were made to 1.8? I noticed 1.8 loads faster than 1.7 did, anything else? 1.6 - I had to download the Defender Database to the desktop, then run Detector Tools etc to get the update. Also had to log in the site each time to get the update Defender Database. 1.7 - I can launch Detector tools, then when I connected the 9500ix it would see the 9500ix (serial) number, then would get updates.

1.8 - Seems to do what 1.7 does but now if there any softwarefirmware updates, it just does the update automatically instead of me interacting like previously. I probably got it all wrong and screwed it up - but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. When will detector tools be available for mac?
