The Tacx Cycling app contains a simplified version of the Catalyst training software, the Analyser and Real Life Video to play Tacx films. Catalyst Professional training programs and fitness tests for a scientific analysis of your training session. Train on heart rate, power output or slope. Follow your development and become a better rider step by step.
Analyser Analyser presents the recorded training data on the screen of the tablet. Your performance is displayed in a graph. Tacx films Cycling in a Tacx film makes a training session more enjoyable and adventurous. The speed of the film is influenced by your cycling pace. If you are cycling up a mountain, the brake of your trainer will generate so much resistance that you can actually sense the percentage of incline. A demo film from the Mont Faron, Toulon in France is included. In the Tacx Cycling app you will find a list of all film titles that have been developed specifically for the app.
These have a distance of about 30 km. Note: The Tacx download films for the Tacx Trainer software and the Tacx films for the Cycling app cannot be combined with each other. The films for the Tacx Trainer software can be ordered via the Tacx Online shop. The films for the Tacx Cycling app can be ordered via the app itself. Re-worked scanning for devices and connecting them entirely. Scanning should be faster and you can now connect data points on devices individually. For example, you can decide to let your Tacx brake provide the app with speed and let your power sensor provide the app with power.
IOS 9 compatible. A first implementation of the cloud feature! You can now log in with a Google+/Facebook account or keep using the app in 'Offline mode'. Fixed a possible endless loop in virtual speed calculations. Fixed an issue where some Ant heart rate monitors were not found.
Added support for the Neo Smart, Genius Smart and Flow Smart. Improved FE-C support. Downloads are now queued so the app will not try and download everything at the same time.
Trainer resistance is now properly reset after a training. 2.4.2 May 22, 2015. Fixed a bug where Satori Smarts would sometimes show very high values for speed, cadence and power - Improved Bluetooth connections - Fixed a bug where selected bicycle type and used values did not match - Improved bicycle type selection by making bicycle weight an input field and showing other values tied to bicycle type - Made opponent leaderboard more readable - Added the ability to name your opponents - Video-trainings without films now have an icon on the thumbnail to reflect this - The app will now not show exceptionally high values received from the trainer. 2.2.2 Mar 3, 2015. After updating, please unpair all devices, close application, restart application, search and pair devices to refresh device list. V2.2.2 - Fixed a bug where Vortex brakes would not report any data to the app through ANT. This resulted in being unable to ride or calibrate with a Vortex.
After purchase of a video, the download should begin automatically v2.2.1 - Added additional information boxes to the preferences - Improved calibration of Bushido Smart and Bushido Legacy - Download behaviour has been reworked, it now has a queue system that should improve stability. JDWCAW, Like the Films I am using Tacx Smart Vortex trainer with this App on iPad and also the Trax training software on a PC. Films provide nice scenic ride with more resistance while climbing.
Found this tip on the Trac web site: 'Different trainers are capable of producing different levels of resistance and can simulate different gradients of slope. A Vortex Smart can simulate a 5% slope, whereas a Genius Smart can simulate a 20% slope. Virtual speed is used to compensate for these different resistances so that the same amount of energy is expended climbing a slope regardless of the model of trainer being used. If the gradient of the slope exceeds the maximum resistance of the trainer, the virtual speed is lowered so the climb takes longer. This means that a climb using a Vortex Smart will take longer than using a Genius Smart, but the same amount of energy is expended.'
So if you are looking for an exact reproduction of climbing difficulty then the type of trainer makes a big difference. ArmandoHernandez21, Very nice workout app I bought a Tacx Vortex on Ebay, open box model, cheaper than MSRP retail price. It took a while to upgrade the firmware on the Vortex and I had to fiddle with the bluetooth settings on my iPadAir and iPhone to get them all synched up. Once I did that, I was able to calibrate the unit with the software, downloaded a few films and got to riding indoors. I Airplay the iPad app to my TV with an AppleTV and this is a very cool setup. The films work very well and they're very motivational; I usually end up riding a lot longer rides than I originally intended.
It would be nice if the app gave you the ability to continue a ride at a later point or to start a ride somewhere in the middle of the film. Downloading films can be slow but and I've seen stoppages but you can restart easily. Overall, once you get the system going, it works well and I've experienced no other issues. TooManyApples, More like a Beta Version The good: clean interface, fairly intuitive, stable The not so good: configuration, options, lack of supporting hardware It is really nice to have an alternative to the buggy Windows platform for the iGenius and other Tacx trainers as it is a much more convenient user experience. The interface is generally easy to use and navigate, though the simplicity, or lack of basic features, is obvious.
Configuration is a bit of a pain using the Ant+ connection to the trainer - their moving to Bluetooth on the trainers will help for future owners. Would have purchased the ride videos, yet have not been able to determine how to make a purchase - Perhaps they are not available as of this writing. Tacx website and user forums are void of information further hampering general user issues. It is a good foundational start, and hopefully it does not take another year to mature the application.
